One Step Closer to Home – A Campaign for Our Children

“One Step Closer to Home” A Campaign for Our Children
Bethany House will transform the services, improve outcomes and change the face of family homelessness in our community.

The One Step Closer to Home capital campaign is the critical next step in helping homeless families in Greater Cincinnati get back on their feet and find a pathway to stability.

All Children Need a Home

Many families in Greater Cincinnati find themselves without a home and nowhere else to turn. These families are the unseen faces of homelessness in desperate need of not only shelter, but also a pathway to stability.

Family homelessness is a community crisis in Cincinnati. A drastic shortage of affordable housing, the COVID-19 health crisis, and job loss has increased the numbers of families seeking shelter.

We must do more to ensure no family – no child – in Greater Cincinnati goes without the basic need of shelter.

New Shelter & Services Center

Safety, Security, & Education for Cincinnati’s Families Experiencing Homelessness

In direct response to the community need, Bethany House will break ground in 2021 on a new and life-changing shelter and comprehensive services center at the corner of Reading Road and Joseph Street in the heart of the Bond Hill community. This project will impact our community’s poorest families through programs addressing homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, re-housing programs, and family stabilization after homelessness.

Our goals for the new service center include:
•  Serve More Families
•  Deepen Support Services
•  Help More Families Reach Long-term Stability
•  Reduce Cycle of Generational Homelessness in our Community

•  94% of families leaving shelter moved to positive housing
•  95% of families who exited shelter have remained housed
•  89% of families who exited from housing programs have not returned to homelessness

How Can You Help?

When all families thrive, our entire region benefits. We are seeking your partnership and support to help our region’s most vulnerable families receive the care and services they need to get back on their feet and reach stability.
