Individual volunteers have a wide range of opportunities including the following.
Kitchen Support
Bethany House serves three meals a day, 365 days a year, so we always need help in the kitchen! Help cook, serve meals, and clean the kitchen and/or cafeteria.
Kidz Zone
Bethany House has extensive children’s programs through “Kidz Zone” and always needs volunteers to help facilitate activities, mentor children, and just have fun. Most programming is in the evenings Monday through Thursday.
Donation Organizing
Thousands of items are donated for Bethany House families each year, and we routinely need help organizing and inventorying these donations. This job can sometimes involve lifting, carrying, or other physical labor.
Special Events
There are multiple events throughout the year that require volunteer support. You could be doing anything from setting up/tearing down, facilitating a game for kids, helping sort donations, or selling raffle tickets.
Respite Care
One of Bethany House’s newest initiatives is providing short-term care for children while parents do errands or attend appointments. These volunteers will only watch a small number of children at a time and will be required to have additional training and background checks.
Administrative Assistance
Bethany House utilizes volunteers to welcome people at the Front Desk, sort and distribute mail, help with mailers, and a variety of other administrative tasks.
