Success Story: Jazzmin’s New Chapter
When Jazzmin’s work slowed unexpectedly, bills began piling up and the family was forced to spend nights sleeping in their car. They needed shelter badly.
Jazzmin and her children arrived at Bethany House in December; they were exhausted. But Jazzmin found a clear plan forward.
She eventually enrolled in a housing program and received help addressing the barriers that had kept her stuck: past evictions, overwhelming utility balances, and the upfront costs of securing a new home.
Support from the Pathway Home program covered her energy bills, basic household needs, a security deposit, and rental assistance, enabling Jazzmin to leave shelter just 52 days after entering. At the same time, she got more hours at work and secured a part-time job to strengthen her income.
On move-out day, she shared her deep gratitude for the timely support that helped her family regain stability so quickly. Jazzmin feels confident about the future—proud of how far she’s come and determined to keep moving forward.
Despite the uncertainty, Jazzmin never stopped believing this was a temporary chapter, not the end of her story. What began as a moment of crisis became a true new beginning for Jazzmin and her children.
