Success Story: Rapid Rehousing Prompted Amber’s Rapid Recovery

Amber was sleeping on the steps of St. Mary’s church with her baby, George, before she came to Bethany House in April, 2026. After living on the street for several weeks, her stress-level was through the roof!

Once inside Bethany House, Amber was able to rest and recalibrate. Three hot meals a day for herself and George allowed her to build her strength and regain her energy. Amber participated in parenting, finance, and other empowerment classes and trusted the process laid out for her by Bethany House staff.

Amber qualified for a Rapid Rehousing program which enabled her and George to exit shelter quickly and move into their own apartment. Her Housing Case Manager helped with landlord negotiations, and donations made through the Pathway Home program offset moving costs like security deposit, new kitchen, bathroom, and cleaning supplies.

Now, George is happily toddling around their new home, and Amber is able to focus on rebuilding the life she wants.

We wish Amber and George the best of everything!
