Renovations Have Begun for In-house Childcare Center

Work has begun to transform under-utilized children’s space in the Family Services Department into on-site childcare for up to 65 children.

Childcare is one of the biggest barriers families face when entering shelter, and small children cannot be left alone in shelter if parents need to work, go to school, or look for their new homes. The new service will be managed by S.I.M.P.Y.’s, an outside provider with existing daycare facilities in Bond Hill and Avondale. Childcare at Bethany House is slated to open in early 2027.

In the meantime, Family Services continues to provide programming, resources, and support for children and parents while the construction is underway.

Stay tuned for more details about this important new service in the coming months!
