After transition from the shelter to independent living, Bethany House support continues at the level required by the family. Families may seek BHS Continuing Support any time after they have left the shelter if they are again in danger of homelessness, regardless of how many years have passed. Continuing Support consists of follow-up through case management, home visits and phone calls. The strategy is to provide housing retention services including budgeting and landlord mediation assistance as well as some monetary assistance. Case manager intervention can often prevent a minor issue from becoming a major crisis leading to another episode of homelessness.
The Continuing Support program has proven to be extremely successful.
